A flute is the original and tallest flute profile. At about 4.7 mm height and 33 flutes per 30 cm, it gives the most cushioning and the highest edge crush per gram, at the cost of more paper consumption and a less smooth printing surface. Used for heavy-duty boxes and shipping fragile items.
