When to pick FSC

Specify FSC for any paper product sold internationally, particularly to European customers, for premium consumer packaging, or for brands with global sustainability claims. FSC is the label most retail buyers and consumers recognize.

When to pick SFI

Specify SFI when buying North American paper for North American distribution. SFI is PEFC-endorsed so it counts for PEFC-compliant supply chains. Many large US and Canadian mills carry SFI by default, with FSC as an upgrade.
